Nightly Routine

I finally splurged on some products for myself (and to share with G) so my nightly routine has become sort of a mini pampering session.  I think it is entirely possible to do a similar routine with less expensive products, and if you know of any great facial products let me know.  I'm always willing to try new things.

I pull my hair back and using Laura Mercier's purifying oil light wash my face.  Easy to use and it helps moisturize my skin.
Then on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday I use the fresh Black Tea Instant Perfecting Mask.  It's super soft whipped texture is easy to use without making a mess.
After I finish with the face mask I rub in a night cream.  Lately I've been using Burt's Bees, but I'm not in love with it.

I brush my teeth, floss and rinse.  Then scrub my nails with a nail brush and moisturize my hands.  I picked up a mini sized hand relief from Aveda last week and it's amazing.  Garret loves it and we're planning on picking up a big bottle when this has run out.

I get a massage from G for my legs (which have been killing me lately since I've been wearing a lot of heels and dancing).  I am extremely blessed that he will do this for me, even if we've had a disagreement.  (and yes it's nightly, sometimes more than once a night.  I hit the jackpot on spoiled there because he's very, very good at deep massage on my sore calves.)

Simple routine, nothing too fancy.  Occasionally I super moisturize my feet and shove them in their moisturizing booties and then put socks over that.  Or I might put some coconut oil in my hair to soak in. I'm currently looking for a good hair treatment to deep condition on occasion, so if you have one you'd recommend I'm taking suggestions.

Do you do anything to pamper yourself at night?  Or are you the crash at the end of the day but take part of the weekend?  Or maybe need to have a pampering day because you're feeling like it's been a while?

  1. Oh man - I need to just take a day and do everything. By the time it's (way past) my bedtime at night it's all I can do to pull the contacts out of my eyes (I have to - I wear gas permeable), brush my teeth and wash my face. My morning routine is not much better - I am usually running barely on time or slightly late... which leaves no time for pampering. If I could do anything right this moment it would be to get a pedicure and deep condition my hair. Preferably at the same time. :)

And you did get lucky with G on the massage! That sounds oh-so-lovely!

  2. I don't think of washing my face at night as pampering, I have had to do it since I was in jr high due to break out prone skin. I am in desperate need of some mama pampering but it won't ever happen.

  3. My favorite part of my routine is exfoliating - it makes such a difference for my skin. I do it twice a week, but in the morning. I absolutely love Origins' Modern Friction, which is gentle enough for my skin but has enough substance to do its job.

I'm totally with you on the little goals - it is the best way to do things. A couple of years ago I started flossing every day. This year I have been making the bed every day (not as good a job as hotels do, but still). Adding one little good habit at a time makes such a big difference!

  4. Kaycee, you need a foot bath that bubbles and a deep conditioner you can do at home. That way once your daughter is asleep you can take some mommy time. :)

Bobbi, I will admit I'm that girl that rarely has any noticeable breakouts. But I love my new face wash and mask routine because it makes my super dry skin very soft.

Stephanie, I am trying to do the flossing every night thing, but when I'm tired I brush quick and then head to be. I'm a work in progress!
