Currently I am rendering leaf lard.  No, never saw myself here.  But when I bought leaf lard and realized it didn't come prepared I threw on my big girl apron and got to it.  So far so good, and it looks like we'll have plenty of cracklings for salads later this week.  Yum!  

Post coming later about our csa bounty, a scrumptious dessert and what on earth I am using lard for. 


  1. Interestingly, I was reading These Days in French life about leaf lard. It's good that your sharing more about it. Can't wait for that dessert!
