Quiche

I usually make quiche with bacon and onions, but we had a ton of spinach on hand, some button mushrooms that needed to be used up, so I improvised and made it work.  I added a cup of fresh spinach (which I chopped up quite a bit), a cup of pieces of button mushrooms, 6 pieces of bacon, and a cup of shredded gruyere cheese.  Turned out so yummy I'm hoping we can make it again really soon!

The spinach floated, so every so often I would have to open the oven and with my silicone spatula push it back down a bit.
And don't forget today is the last day to enter the giveaway HERE!!!  So far I've only announced the tea ball, the Neilsen-Massey Vanilla and the butter bell.  But there will be a few more items in there as well!

  1. This looks soooo good! How do you make the crust? I have an extra pie crust that I made but used crisco instead of butter so I dont know if it would taste as good for a quiche....

  2. I make mine with a butter crust, but my mom always makes her pies with crisco and it seems to work out fine. If you need a good, simple pie crust recipe let me know!

  3. From what I have read the butter gives the crust a much better flavor but the crisco makes the crust flakier.... So I think I might make one with butter for a quiche. Could you send me your recipe? thanks kalee!
