Butterball Turkey

3 hours old
Eleanor Rose Marie.... We're calling her Nora.

Well as I am typing this on my phone while she sleeps in my arms I will keep it fairly short. My water broke around 9 p.m. on the 23rd and she was here at 8:32 a.m. on the 24th. One of the first things I said was that I had just given birth to a butterball turkey. She weighed 10 1/2 lbs, but the midwife said their scale weighed a few ounces heavy. Today she weighed in at 10 lbs 1 oz. She's tall at 23 inches! We got the "all looks good" and were headed home by 12.
She loves to be a burrito baby!
I did it all natural like planned because even if I had decided I wanted drugs, by the time I made it to the midwifery I was at the end and it was time to push within 20 minutes.  I guess 6 hours or so of labor wasn't too bad, so I can't complain.  I apparently have, to quote the midwife, "babymaking hips/pelvis."

Posting might be light as I'm recuperating from the whole thing.
She likes to sleep curled up in our arms, so when I'm awake enough I appease her.
I'm completely in love.

  20. Oh, she is beautiful! Congratulations1 Thank you for documenting your pregnancy this whole time; I feel like we got to share this experience with you. And her name - so classy and English (and an opportunity to be sassy). You'll have to let her watch the old Thin Man movies.
