No Name

Don't you just love how it was put together?

We're considering putting a really pretty fabric here on the side, something to make it pop.  I actually have a really cool idea, but you'll have to wait to see!

We haven't named this piece yet, and yes we plan to name it.  But we'll take our time as we fix it up.  A freecycle find, it's an old antique dresser that is going to be fixed and put into our living room.  I want to get some drawer organizers and make the top drawer a place for gloves and scarves, the middle drawer where be where I store extra candles and miscellaneous, and the bottom drawer will be for blankets.  I was super excited to find it, and was planning on putting it in our closet, but when I saw it I knew it was exactly what I had been looking for.  Before I kept searching for a longer dresser for the space, but it just clicked when I saw this today, it is perfect to have over by our stairs, with a mirror above, and an umbrella stand and shoe basket next to it.  I am now searching for drawer pulls for it, I'm thinking some pretty glass ones like these from Anthropologie.   Don't you just love finding the perfect thing when you didn't expect to?

Our little nook already looks a lot more cozy, don't you think?

  1. That's exactly what I'm looking for, for the baby!! I want an old, 3 drawer dresser that I can turn into a changing table. :-)
Can't wait to see what you do to it.

  2. You have to name such an adorable piece - it's not right for it to remain nameless for long ;)

  3. I love solid wood bits of furniture - especially in lightish oaky tones! I have them mixed with glass and whites in my home to create a sophisticated, beachy look....or so I hope!
