Blur

I have nothing of importance to post about.  I've spent my days on an off schedule, staying up way too late, sleeping till 1 or 2 every day.  My mind is constantly whirring away, the gears turning as we try and get G ready for deployment.  I'm a huge fan of caffeine these days, and all the comfort foods G wants (such as biscuits and gravy for dinner tonight).  I have a list as long as my arm of things that absolutely have to get done before he leaves and it's overwhelming but keeping me going.

I have bought a sweater that will be perfect for my sweater pillow with rosettes on it.  I'm hoping to get that done before the weekend.  But mainly our lives consist of a lot of talking (coupled with a lot of coffee).  We're excited for this deployment to be done, to be planning trips around the world.  I think we're re-discovering what is most important to us, and slowly learning to go after and savor the experiences.  So many things we're planning for once he's home.  For instance we want to take ballroom dancing lessons.  (and yes, I mean we....G really thinks it will be fun....we love to dance around the house.)  I want to push G to get him through his bachelor's degree, but also push him to go through with ground school so that someday he'll be flying on his own and we can take off down the coast.  And we've already planned to go to a very nice dinner here in the city at Charleston once he's home.

So right now please excuse my lack of anything to talk about.  I am going to attempt to make it to the gym tomorrow which will be miraculous indeed.  Until things have calmed down a bit, please forgive my silence.

  1. Good for you for spending time with yourself to be peaceful and with your husband prior to his deployment; these priorities absolutely take precedence over blogging. No need to apologize!

  3. Kalee, the main reason I was drawn to your blog was your wonderful running narrative on your and your hubby's relationship. And although I love seeing your divine meals and reading all your helpful and chic hints, the main reason I keep reading is because of the wonderful and beautiful love story that is you and your husband. (Plus you are a great writer!) God Bless You Both! Bess

  4. Ain't nothing wrong with comfort food when the weather is so gross and cold out!
