I am whoa late to the kale chips/crisps game, but I finally tried them yesterday. Oh my goodness, they are so, so delicious! Crisp and lightly salty they taste similar to our roasted broccoli. We already ate an entire bunch yesterday and are now roasting another bunch.
Kale is super duper healthy for you being high in beta carotene, vitamin K, vitamin C and pretty decent for calcium too! It has potent anti-cancer abilities as well, so really good if you're wanting to keep healthy. Combine that with the olive oil and sea salt used to roast it and you have a veritable super food!
If by chance you're like me and slow to try these new fangled things, I suggest trying it immediately. I used Smitten Kitchen's recipe, which can be found here. Perfect afternoon boost!
Love kale but it's very difficult to find in France which makes me so sad.
ReplyDeleteI've made the same chips with swiss chard, and they are fab, too. It's hard for me to not consume an entire head of kale when they are roasted in this manner!
ReplyDeleteI'm going to have to try the swiss chard that way, Rebekah! Maybe Sara can find that more readily?
