G said something to me while we were out shopping that kind of made me pause. We were discussing how I am a girly girl. How I love skirts, clutches, and heels. But he said something about how he loves the surprising twist that I have this secret rock n roll part of me. I thought for a second and said that I supposed I did, but it wasn't something I gave much thought. That when I see something I like, I don't question why I like it, unless it seems out of the ordinary for me. And these "rock n roll" touches he was talking about never made me pause.
I do love clutches with studs, and I'm on the search for the perfect pair of leopard high heels. I love black leather, tall boots, and dark smudgy eyeliner. I don't think it contradicts my ladylike choices, because it doesn't contradict me. I love the opera but at 3 a.m. on a Friday night/Saturday morning you can find me dancing around either a club or my home in heels and my hair flowing, lost in music. I love my Audi TT (we really should start a saving account for it), but I've found I also love being on the back of a motorcycle, how my hair cascades down when I take my helmet off.
Love the pics of your clutches and nail polish. It's a perfect example of your combination of style!
ReplyDeleteI love that you have a style to go with your sense of self! And I agree with you, when we try to dress like other people it feels off. I think you can admire someone's style without needing to copy it. It might not fit you. For example, I love your style and your outfits but I would not be comfortable in them - nor would they look the same on me. Kind of like when you see an outfit on a model in a catalog, doesn't always work for you when you get it home!
