Tip And Tale

Oh Hello!

Isn't her smooshy face the cutest?  One of her nicknames is Smooshy, because she's got these cheeks and turkey neck and she has a tendency when lying on us to get all squished.  It's adorable.
So, tip.  I am attempting to eat more yogurt, and while we normally do Greek yogurt, I wanted something smoother for this.  So I grabbed some organic whole milk yogurt (I normally grab cream top, which is even richer, but the store didn't have it).  But I didn't want plain yogurt.  So I poured a bowl of frozen strawberries, left them in the fridge overnight and the next day used my immersion blender to blend them into the yogurt.  It tasted great that night, but even better the next day.  No added sugar, just frozen strawberries and it tastes so good that it's like a decadent treat.  My recommendation is to do at least 2 cups strawberries for each container (I did more than that I think).

Also, made 4 popsicles with it...yum!

Now for a funny tale.  Max the cat is a wee bit jealous of the baby.  This is because Max is an attention whore, and will throw himself (literally) at you to be petted, and he likes to be picked up and cuddled like a baby.  So, G's arms full of Nora just pisses him off.  However, I think he's warming up to her, or rather the perks.  I caught him in her newborn napper yesterday, and not even turning the vibrating action on made him move.
The look on his face says it all.  He has since attempted repeats of this, but fears the mighty squirt bottle.

And soon after this is how we spent the rest of the early afternoon:

Nora lies like this for feedings.  Max jumped up and pushed his rear up against hers.  As this is how he snuggles in with the puppies I'm beginning to think he sees her as another puppy.  He didn't budge, even as I moved about to get photos.

So, any tips or funny tales?  I could use them (I'm a wee bit sleep deprived but forcing myself to stay up so I'll sleep tonight!).

Don't Buy The Cuteness

Having had a lot on my mind, I've been up for nearly 24 hours (with an hour and a half nap in there late last night).  Insanity.  I'd like to sleep, but at this point it isn't happening and I'm blaming 3 people:

Audrey, Sophie, and Max. (yes, technically not people, but not a single one of them seems to realize that.)
These are not innocent faces, no matter how much they try to convince you otherwise. Notice ballsy Max staring the camera down.  He had been pretending to sleep seconds before.
Audrey has decided that anytime she can possibly do so she hops up on the sofa at me like I won't notice her tiny little body leaping at my face.  When I tell her to get down she stares at me and ignores me.  It escalates until I'm halfway up the stairs to the restroom and I use her middle name in my mama voice and suddenly she realizes that if she's still there when I come down she's in super trouble.  Better to get down and then attempt the same thing half an hour later.

Sophie continually keeps putting her head on my ribs or belly, no matter how many lectures she's gotten about a baby being in there.  I'm pretty sure this baby is one day going to haul off and kick her head when she does it.  When not flopping her head down on me (and usually the laptop as well), she's bringing me her gross toy to throw, and getting beat up by Max (literally... he grabbed her head tonight and began twisting in some sick sibling game I don't understand).

And Max... hmm.  Max is co-dependent, an odd cat.  He does not like me to go anywhere without him, even if I have to use the restroom. (which, hello, I'm pregnant, so this happens a lot.)  He chases me up the stairs, disappears (though I can hear his little kitty breathing in the dark), and then either bounds after me as I go down or tries to kill me by lying across a step I can't see in the dark.  Jerk.

All of this coupled with the fact that as I was changing into pjs I got a good look at my belly, and thought, "Damn."  From the front I haven't put anything (weight wise) on my hips, or waist, so it's this sort of odd thing to kind of see the 3-d with my belly protruding.  Almost like a mullet... normal in the front, party from the side.  She's been super active all day long, including enough that G got to see my belly bounce up while on Skype.  Active baby means mama has a hard time concentrating on forcing herself to sleep.  She's not even out in the real world and she's already distracting me!

So, random post, slightly insane, but it what it is.

Max and Corduroy

Max is a lap kitty.  In the sense that he absolutely needs to be on your lap at all times, and has been known to push the computer up off my lap when I'm sitting cross legged and crawl under it.  If cold and I'm lying in bed with my knees up, he will crawl under the covers and press himself into the back of my legs.  And sometimes this means he gets to join in on story time (though sadly he's generally more interested in t.v. shows).
He seemed relieved when Corduroy found a home.  He knows what it's like to be in a store without a home!

*For the record G was reading to me, not the cat.  It was one of his favorite childhood books and I had never read it.
